The City of DeKalb works with residents, community leaders, and social services agencies to provide a consistently high quality of life for all citizens of DeKalb. In order to accomplish this goal, the City provides a variety of programs funded through CDBG Program, Tax Increment Financing, and other sources.

Human Services Funds are awarded on an annual basis to local not-for-profits with 501(c)(3) status who provide services to residents of the City of DeKalb.
The City also works with residents to improve individual neighborhoods by creating and implementing plans for neighborhood revitalization and providing neighborhood support programs.

Unfortunately, financial assistance is not available from the City of DeKalb for rent, security deposits, nor down-payments for homes.
