  1. DeKalb Municipal Band Concert

    August 22, 2017, 8:00 PM @ Band Shell at Hopkins Park

    Recognized throughout the country as one of the Midwest's most historic musical organizations, the DeKalb Municipal Band will hold the 2017 concert season at the Hopkins Park Band Shell, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb. Performances include soloists each week and a special "Pops Concert" and fireworks show on the Fourth of July as well as other special featured events. Conductor: Kirk Lundbeck History: The DeKalb Municipal Band is a tradition that goes back to 1854, when a small group of musicians fresh from the California Gold Rush formed the Silver Cornet Band. Since then, a City Band in DeKalb has existed for over 160 years, uninterrupted by wars, and a depression. With such a record, DeKalb claims to be the city with the oldest continuous band in Illinois.

    The DeKalb Farmers’ Market will be held in Van Buer Plaza, at North Second and Locust Street, and will be open every Thursday, June through September. The DeKalb Farmers’ Market features over 30 vendors and provides the community with fresh locally grown produce, bread, baked goods, coffee, flowers, food trucks and more!

Celebrating its 40th year, the festival will be held in downtown DeKalb on Lincoln Highway, between First and Fourth Streets. All shows are free to the public. DeKalb Sycamore Area Transportation Study

  1. DSATS 2017 Transit Development Plan Public Comment Period

    The DeKalb Sycamore Area Transportation Study is the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the City of DeKalb, City of Sycamore, Town of Cortland, and portions of DeKalb County. The DSATS has recently updated its Transit Development Plan for the DeKalb metropolitan region and is making the plan for public review and comment from Friday, August 11, 2017 to Monday, September 25, 2017.
