    November 7, 2017, 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM @ DeKalb Public Library, Story and Activity Room

    This story time program is geared towards children, ages 2-5, and caregivers. Music, finger plays, puppets, and books are woven into this week’s theme, farm animals.   2. Book Babies Lap-sit Program

    This lap-sit program is geared towards infants, ages 0-24 months. Babies will learn music, movements, and stories.   5. NIU Student Art Reception

    NIU Libraries and the DeKalb Public Library have partnered to commemorate the centennial of Gwendolyn Brooks. Please join us in celebrating the life and works of this historic poet! The NIU School of Art and Design will display student artwork throughout the DeKalb Public Library’s lower level. At the opening reception, members of the Xi Delta Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta will be unveiling the art and reading excerpts of Brooks’ poetry. Also, be sure to visit the Gwendolyn Brooks exhibits on the 2nd and 4th floors of Founders Memorial Library starting in October. The closing reception will be held on Thursday, December 7 from 4:00—5:30 p.m. at the Founders Memorial Library on the first floor. Light refreshments will be served at both events while supplies last. This event is free and open to all, no registration is required.
