  1. Homeschool Happenings: Harry Potter

    December 11, 2017, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Story & Activity Room

    Ring out the calendar year with Homeschool Happenings’ non-denominational holiday party! Games and crafts are a must, along with some light refreshments. We’ll also have a White Elephant gift exchange! This event is open to kids of all ages. Everyone is welcome to attend and discover what homeschooling is all about! No registration is required. If you’d like to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped toy (new or gently used, and less than $5) to put under the tree.   2. Mighty Makers: Hour of Code

    December 11, 2017, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Children’s Department

    Hour of Code is an initiative to teach more children to code. This month, our Mighty Makers group will be participating in this global program. You can help Moana defeat the Kakamora, create your own Star Wars game, or face CodeCombat! Along the way, participants will learn valuable beginning coding skills. Recommended for children ages 6 to 11, this program is entirely FREE! Space is limited to 20 participants. Registration will begin 15 minutes before the start of the program. First come, first serve!   3. Video Gaming Club w/ the Gaming Goat

  6. Advanced TinkerCad: Design a Holiday Ornament

    December 11, 2017, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Nancy D. Castle Collaboration Studio

    Get into the Holiday spirit by learning how to design your own customized ornament! We’ll be using the free, web-based software TinkerCAD to build your very own holiday ornament, and when you’ve finished designing it, we’ll print it out for you! This class and the accompanying 3D print is completely free! We do ask that participants be at least 8 years old, and have basic computer skills. No experience with 3D design or printing is required.
