  1. Basic Gardening

    May 24, 2017, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library

Have you wanted to start a garden but weren’t sure where to begin? Or do you have a garden but have questions about what to grow or simply want to share your experiences with other gardeners? This Gardening Basics class given by the DeKalb County Community Gardens will help you get started and keep growing! We will discuss garden placement and planning, soil structure and biology, plant selection, and maintenance. Though we’ll focus on annual vegetable gardens, there will be some discussion on ornamentals and perennials as well. If the weather is agreeable, we will take a short walk to the Community Garden’s garden space in downtown DeKalb to get a look at some gardening in action. We hope to see you there! This program is FREE and open to all, no registration is required!

The TIP represents planned transportation improvements for Illinois State Fiscal Years 2018-2022. The TIP is a short-range capital improvements program outlining a 4-year schedule of projects that have been locally approved by DSATS to receive federal funding. The public involvement procedures used in the development of the TIP satisfy the program-of-project requirements of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5307 Program.
