    Are you applying for jobs, but not getting interviews? Are you having a hard time figuring out the best way to show potential employers why would be the best person to fill their open positions? Are you worried that your spelling or grammar is preventing hiring managers from taking you seriously as a candidate? Register now for a 45-minute résumé review with the library’s Head of Adult Services, Britta Krabill. Britta has been trained in résumé preparation by the Illinois WorkNet Center. She will help you decide the most effective content and structure for your résumé, as well as assist you with spelling and grammar. Appointments are available at 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm and 4:00pm on Tuesday, February 6 and Thursday, February 8. Each appointment lasts 45 minutes.   6. Great Souls Film Series: Seven Years in Tibet

    March 8, 2018, 7:00 PM - 9:15 PM @ Egyptian Theatre

    The DeKalb Public Library and the Egyptian Theatre present the “Great Souls” film series, a screening of three FREE cultural movies throughout the spring. A panel discussion will be held in late spring to discuss the cultural beliefs and values represented in the films. The series begins with Seven Years in Tibet (1997), the true story of Heinrich Harrer, an Austrian mountain climber who became friends with the Dalai Lama at the time of China's takeover of Tibet. This movie is rated PG-13 and has a running time of 2 hours and 19 minutes. This program is made possible by the Brian D. Slavenas Center for Cross-Cultural Understanding. This series is open to all and intended for adults and mature teens. No registration is required. All films will be shown at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb.
