Cross-Connection

Cross Connection Control is responsible for ensuring that a non-potable water source is not allowed to contaminate the City’s water supply. This may occur by either a backflow, back-siphonage or direct connect of a non-potable source into the water system. To prevent such an occurrence, Cross Connection Control ensures that backflow devices are in place at points where a potential for contamination exists.
Cross Connection Control Device

The backflow devices are designed to prevent non-potable water from entering a potable source. In addition, the Cross Connection Control monitors the annual re-certification of all backflow devices within the City’s water system.
