Contractors for the 2018 Street Maintenance Program have finished marking curbs, sidewalk ramps, and driveway approaches scheduled for repairs in the Ellwood Neighborhood.
With construction scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, residents will experience contractor-imposed parking restrictions in addition to the restrictions recently implemented under Phase II of the Safe Streets Initiative. Recognizing the limited parking capacity resulting from both circumstances, the Police Department has agreed to not issue citations for “resident only” parking in the Ellwood Neighborhood until the street maintenance program is completed. Other parking regulations will remain in effect (blocking fire hydrants, blocking driveways, etc.)
Residents with driveway approaches scheduled for repair will not have access to their driveway for a minimum of five (5) days. The extended period will allow contractors to remove, form, pour, and cure the new concrete driveway approach. Public Works will work with the contractors to limit the amount of time the driveway approach remains inaccessible and appreciate residents' patience.
