[ARCHIVED] No Danger from Rockton Fire

The DeKalb Fire Department reports that there is no danger to the City of DeKalb from a chemical plant fire in Winnebago County.

There is a substantial structure fire at a chemical plant in Rockton, IL. Looking westward, a dark haze from the fire can be seen high in the air. However, the evacuation radius is one mile, leaving DeKalb well out of the potential hazard area.

DeKalb Fire has not sent resources to the incident.
