Dial-A-Ride areas and information

City of DeKalb Public Transit is offering Dial-a-Ride service for the residents of Cortland, Sycamore and southeast DeKalb.  This Dial-a-Ride service is designed to connect individuals who do not qualify for Paratransit services to the DeKalb Public Transportation Fixed Route system:

 

  • Service Open to all non-paratransit riders within the zone.

  • 1 - 7 days in advance booking window

  • Service outside Dial-a-Ride area will transfer to fixed routes at:

    • Sycamore

      • Kishwaukee Hospital

      • Civic Apartments

    • Cortland and southeast DeKalb

      • DeKalb Walmart

      • Locust St. between 6th St. and 7th St. in DeKalb (by the train depot).

  • Cost is $1.00 within the Dial-a-Ride area.  

    1. Transfers to from Dial-a-Ride to Fixed Route do not require an additional fare.

    2. Transfers from Fixed Route to Dial-A-Ride Service are 50 cents.  

 

Sycamore Dial-a-Ride Service Area:

 

The boundaries of the Dial-a-Ride Service Area are:

  • North of Bethany Rd between Somonauk St and DeKalb Ave (Rt 23)

  • 3/4 mile west of DeKalb Ave (Rt 23) to 3/4 mile east of Somonauk St (Meijer's grocery will be included in this area)

  • 3/4 mile on either side of W State St between Fair St and Airport Rd

  • 3/4 mile either side of Airport Rd to Quigley Rd.

  • 3/4 mile either side of N Main St between W State St and Plank Rd (Peace Rd) to include Jewel-Osco and Center for Family Health.

Cortland Dial-a-Ride Service Area:

 

The boundaries of the Dial-a-Ride Service Area are:

  • 10th St. DeKalb between Lincoln Hwy. (Rt. 38) and Sycamore Rd. (Rt. 23)

  • Sycamore Rd. between north of 10th St. and Barber Green Rd.

  • Barber Green Rd. between Sycamore Rd. and Somonauk Rd.

  • All Incorporated Areas of the Town of Cortland.
