  8. Animal – Real or Fantasicals

    Unleash your inner artist at the library with Jo Plenger-Schulz! Over the course of three weekly sessions from September 10 to September 24, you will learn about the color wheel, mix and try out different colors, and paint animals—real or fantastical—on canvas. Please bring a photo or model of the animal you want to paint (plastic or stuffed animals welcome). Acrylic paints will be used, so wear old clothes or a paint shirt—the paint will NOT wash out! This program is intended for children ages 8 to 11. Space is limited to 8 participants. Register at dkpl.org to participate. Jo Plenger-Schulz has a Bachelor degree in Studio Art and a Master’s in Art Therapy, both from NIU. You may know her as the artist who painted the library’s huskie, which is currently on display near the elevators on the lower level. Jo specializes in temporary murals and is looking forward to creating one this summer with interested young artists.
