Department Mission Statement

In partnership with City departments, Information Technology’s mission is to provide external and internal customers with needed information, innovation, unparalleled service in local government, and to improve processes and communication, and maintain core technology.  Accomplishments are to be made in the most efficient, team-oriented, and fiscally responsible manner so residents, businesses, visitors, and employees receive the best service possible.


Duties & Responsibilities


Administrative Services

The Information Technology Department works to ensure the City is utilizing best practices, efficient processes, and public transparency.  These include the following:
  • Facilitate the creation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and industry best practices 
  • Review processes and recommend improvements
  • Work with departments to collect information and present using electronic mediums

​Technical Services

The Information Technology Department is responsible for the maintenance and administration of all city information and communication systems including the following:
  • Email support and administration
  • Employee technology support
  • City software support
  • Data center support including servers, storage, and networking
  • Police/Fire critical systems support
  • Coordinate the City's website
  • Maintain and update the Government Access television station on Channel 14
  • Printing support
  • Mobile equipment and network support

Data Services

The Information Technology Department is responsible to facilitate the collection, storage, and distribution of the City's data across all technology.  This includes:
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Data
  • Database management and administration
  • Data integration services
  • Application lifecycle maintenance
