ComEd Schedules Tree Trimmings

The logo for ComEd.

The City has been informed by ComEd that the utility will be trimming trees, branches and other vegetation near power lines in the next three months.

This work will primarily occur in the City’s northwest quadrant. The specific streets are highlighted on the map. ComEd has mailed postcards to the affected customers and property owners.

According to the utility, tree trimming is a key component of ComEd’s maintenance program to ensure system reliability, as vegetation contact with ComEd equipment is a leading cause of outages.

Qualified line-clearance workers contracted by ComEd will be performing the tree pruning work. According to the utility, supervisors and general foremen will be in close contact with the crews, ensuring that the work is performed properly.

For more information about vegetation maintenance along power lines, please visit ComEd's website. Resident with questions or concerns to contact 1 (800) Edison-1.

A map of DeKalb shows the street on which ComEd will be performing tree trimming.
