Stormwater Activities
Overview
All development within the City of DeKalb must conform to all regulations on Stormwater and floodplain activities as identified within the City of DeKalb regulations, State of Illinois regulations, and all applicable federal regulations. Below is information all developers should consider when dealing with Stormwater and floodplain issues:

- Stormwater Project Implementation Plan (PDF) for a multi-year look at future flood reduction programs the City of DeKalb may undertake as funding allows
Phase 2 Permit
The City of DeKalb is required to implement Stormwater activities for continued compliance with an EPA National Pollution Discharge Elimination Permit (NPDES). Flood Insurance Maps

FIRMette
A FIRMette is a full-scale section of a FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) that you create yourself online which can be formatted to fit on printers commonly found in offices. FIRMette's can be used in all aspects of the NFIP including floodplain management, flood insurance, and enforcement of mandatory flood insurance purchase requirements). - ILDNR Floodplain Update: The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) has signed a Cooperating Technical Partnership Agreement to fully participate in the Map Modernization Program.
