Laboratory

Working closely with the Wells and Treatment Division is the laboratory. The laboratory performs the sampling and testing required by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, the Laboratory provides for the quality control and quality assurance of the City’s public water supply. The City of DeKalb’s Laboratory is one of only a few public laboratories that is certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health to perform bacteriological analysis of public water supplies.

  • Awarded Certificate of Commendation by the Illinois Department of Public Health for achieving the highest standard of compliance in accordance with the Illinois Fluoridation Act for 19 consecutive years
