The City of DeKalb will perform mosquito abatement beginning Thursday.

Public Works crew members will be using Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) while dropping tablets in catch basins and other open grates to the storm sewer system. The tablets will eliminate mosquito larvae.

The abatement work is being performed after the DeKalb County Health Department reported that mosquitos collected in DeKalb and Sycamore have tested positive for West Nile Virus. More information on the positive samples can be found here: https://health.dekalbcounty.org/7014-2/
