The 2024 Draft Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant Program is available for review and public comment.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federally funded program intended to increase affordable housing, and community and economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents of the City of DeKalb.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires the City to submit a Consolidated Plan every five years plus an Annual Action Plan each year that describes community needs, resources, priorities, and proposed activities to be undertaken under CDBG. The City will receive an estimated $375,561 in CDBG funds for Program Year 2024 (April 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025) dependent upon when Congress passes the federal budget.
The Draft Annual Action Plan for 2024 is available here and a print copy is available in the Community Development Department and main lobby of DeKalb City Hall at 164 East Lincoln Highway. A print copy is also available at the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak Street.
The 2024 Draft Annual Action Plan is subject to consideration and public input by City Council and members of the community. All interested citizens are invited to submit written comments until 5:00 pm on January 22, 2024. Please address all comments to:
