[ARCHIVED] UP Plans Temporary Closure of Six Crossings in DeKalb

The Union Pacific Railroad will be temporarily closing six railroad crossings in DeKalb beginning Thursday, May 23.

The crossings at 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th and 10th Street will be closed for maintenance work. The crossing at Fourth Street and Lincoln Highway will remain open.

The crossings will be closed simultaneously so the maintenance can be completed more efficiently. While the work may be completed earlier, it should be anticipated that the closures will remain in place through Sunday, May 26.

While the City is making the community aware of the closures, this is not a municipal project. The City has no authority over railroad maintenance projects.
