Portions of some roads in downtown DeKalb, including East Lincoln Highway between First and Fourth Street, will be closed Thursday for the NIU Homecoming Block Party. All community members are invited to the event, which includes a car show and Fun Zone with free family activities, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the March of the Huskies and pep rally at 6 p.m.
The following roads will close at 10 a.m. for setup & the event:
- East Lincoln Highway between First and Fourth Street,
- Second Street between the rear of City Hall and Locust Street
- Third Street between the railroad tracks & Locust Street
Roads will reopen around 9 p.m. Thursday night.
- Additionally, North Third Street between Locust & Oak Street will be closed at 3 p.m. for parade staging.
All City parking lots will remain open!
